Privacy policy

This policy explains information that may be handled when you visit HikeBoard. The calculators run from the values entered in your browser. HikeBoard does not require an account, and calculator entries are not intentionally stored as a personal salary or employment profile on our servers.

Technical information

Like most websites, hosting and security systems may receive technical details such as IP address, browser type, device type, requested pages, referring page, and the date and time of a request. This information can be used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, investigate errors, and understand general performance. Server logs may be retained for a limited period by our hosting providers.

Cookies, analytics, and ads

HikeBoard may use cookies or similar browser storage for site preferences, traffic measurement, and advertising. Analytics may report grouped information such as popular pages, broad location, or device category. Advertising partners, including Google when enabled, may use cookies to show and measure ads. Those partners can process information under their own privacy policies.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may affect preferences or ad personalisation, but the main calculators should remain available. Where consent is legally required, a consent choice should be offered before optional technologies are used.

Messages you send

If you email us, we receive the address and information included in the message. It is used to respond, investigate an issue, and keep a reasonable support record. Do not send offer letters, payslips, government identifiers, employee IDs, or confidential company material. We do not need those documents to check a calculator.

Sharing and retention

Information may be processed by service providers that host, secure, analyse, or support the site. We do not sell the values you type into calculator boxes. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect the site, or during a business transfer. Data is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the relevant purpose, subject to provider settings and legal requirements.

You may ask about a message you sent or request deletion where applicable by emailing hello@hikeboard.com. Privacy rights vary by location, and exceptions may apply. This policy can change as the website or its providers change. The current version will remain on this page.
